ABOUT THE HOST

Mandated by the former Tourism and Industrial Development Company of Trinidad and Tobago (TIDCO), The Trinidad and Tobago Tour Guides’ Association (TTTGA) was established in October 1997.  The Association under Trade Union regulations has the vision of standardising the service of our local Tour Guides as well as the information being disseminated, thereby increasing their professionalism and, by extension, uplifting the nation’s tourism product.

ABOUT THE EXPERIENCE

We start with a tour of the city of POS which includes the downtown financial area; the Magnificent Seven around the Queen’s Park Savannah (7 stately European homes built 1902-1910) and then up to the Lady Young Road look-out for a view of the city from the East. We then head up to historical Fort George for a view the coast of Venezuela, on a clear day, the islands that dot the Gulf of Paria and a view of POS from the West. Guests can sit/relax before heading back down to the House of Angostura for a Tour and Taste.  Angostura is Trinidad and Tobago premier rum distillers and makers of the famous Angostura Bitters. Hear the history and see their rum making/bottling process. You will have the opportunity to meet either their Master Distiller or Chief Mixologist.  You will also have the opportunity to purchase Angostura products from their company store.
